GROUP FUNDRAISERS

Benefit Nights at Local Restaurants

i.e. Taco Cabana, make a date, invite you friends, and collect 20% of what they spend! Contact a Taco Cabana General Manager, they will give you the invites and the restaurant.

Craft Show: Sell space in your parish center to artisans.

  • It’s a fundraiser for you, they keep their profits for the crafts they sell.

Bake Sale: Find people who like to bake and sell goodies after Masses.

  • Pick a weekend with a theme and decorate the goodies accordingly.

Pancake Breakfasts: Easy, especially if you get donations. Add sausage or fruit toppings for extra $$. Another spin is not pancakes – Fajita Taco Sale.

Rummage Sale: Who doesn’t have a bunch of stuff to get rid of!

  • Offer drop off times at the location of the sale or offer to pick up the treasures.
  • Request slightly used items and furniture.
  • Sell a 12 x 10 pad for a nominal fee and allow the parishioners bring in their own items to sell. Could also ask the parishioners to make a donation to your cause. Can coordinate with St. Vincent de Paul for a pick up time.

Raffles & Silent Auction: Request donations from local businesses.

  • Sell raffle tickets or promote a time when parishioners can come to look at items and bid on them.

BBQ Plate Sale: Beans and rice are cheap and easy to make.

  • Get the chicken or brisket donated and the fundraiser is almost all profit.
  • Sell tickets in advance but know that you will have people come over to buy when they smell the good cooking.
  • Can purchase raw Chicken leg quarters through Bill Miller’s BBQ at a reduced cost. Must go through their headquarters.

Spaghetti Dinner: Lots of help make this successful and lucrative.

  • Get as many items donated as possible, decorate the space for dinner, and include a salad, a bread stick, and a drink.
  • Have the recipients of the funds be the ones serving the meals at tables.
  • Sell tickets in advance.

Donation bucket: At every fundraiser have a place for people to add a little extra.

Second Collection: Ask the higher ups to take up a second collection for those traveling to WYD.

  • Make sure to make a donation to the official WYD so that they can pass money to those in impoverished countries.

Service related – getting the parish more involved with what you are doing, and are about.

  • Offer to clean up for events/parties at the parish – ask if they would be willing to contribute to your ministry – whether it is for WYD or something else – but give it a name, a purpose.

Little Kid Lock-in - $10-20 per kid

  • Friday night – offer games in the gym, movies, pizza, games, popcorn
  • All put on by the high schoolers (Life Teen) or those wishing to go to WYD
  • Time 6:30 – 9:30 PM
  • Charge an additional fee for parents who show up late. If their kids attend day care, they are very familiar with these fees!
  • Kids need to already have eaten dinner.

Gift wrapping service – for Christmas

  • Have Saturdays/Sundays and some week night evenings… either at parish or contact Malls/stores

Most importantly GET THE WORD OUT. Tell everyone you know about your fundraiser to build up more support!
